The team there are wonderfully warm and welcoming, and the whole hotel has an energy that sets brides completely at ease on their morning.

Rydges has generously sized rooms with big windows that let in the kind of soft, even light I love for makeup, it makes such a difference to the finished result. It’s also perfectly positioned close to so many beautiful ceremony locations, so the morning always flows without any rushing.

There’s something truly magical about getting ready with the ocean stretching out in front of you, and Noah’s delivers that in the most effortless way. I adore working here, the relaxed coastal atmosphere creates a calm, joyful energy that carries right through into the wedding day.

Elopements and intimate weddings are some of my favourite days to be part of, and Newcastle has a quietly stunning range of settings for them. A harbour-view ceremony at Customs House, a clifftop exchange at Nobby’s, an intimate dinner in a heritage room in the CBD, small weddings in Newcastle never feel like they’re missing anything. There’s a stillness to a day that’s just about the two of you and the people who matter most, and I find that kind of morning genuinely moving to be part of.

For elopements and micro-weddings, my one-artist approach works beautifully - no team, no fuss, just a calm and unhurried getting-ready morning wherever you’re based. I do have a minimum booking of three people for both hair and makeup for Newcastle travel, though Newcastle and Lake Macquarie bookings carry no travel fee, which makes smaller celebrations that little bit easier to plan. The same full kit and the same care, regardless of how many seats are at your ceremony.

How much does hair and makeup cost for a Newcastle wedding?

Bridal hair is $160 and bridal makeup is $160, so a bride booking both is $320. Bridesmaids are $150 for each service, guests are $140 and mothers of the bride and groom are $130 for makeup. Travel to Newcastle and Lake Macquarie is free, so parking on the day is the only extra cost. Trials are $150 each and a $300 deposit secures your date. There is a minimum booking of three people for both hair and makeup, and full pricing for every service is on my pricing page.

Do you travel to all Newcastle suburbs?

Yes, I cover all of Newcastle and surrounding suburbs at no extra travel cost. I only ask that you cover any parking fees on the day.

What time do you arrive on the wedding morning?

I always arrive 15 minutes early to set up before we begin. Your start time will be confirmed in your booking details based on your ceremony time and the size of your bridal party.

Do you work with a team for large bridal parties?

For larger parties I bring additional qualified stylists so everyone is ready on time. I always remain the lead artist and personally handle all bride services.

How far in advance should I book?

Newcastle weddings book out quickly, especially spring and autumn Saturdays. I recommend enquiring at least 12 months in advance to secure your date, though I do sometimes have last-minute availability.

Do you do airbrush makeup for Newcastle Weddings?

I offer both traditional and airbrush makeup application depending on skin type, the look you're after, and what will photograph best on your wedding day. We'll talk through the options at your trial to find the perfect fit for you.

Can you do hair only, or makeup only?

Absolutely. While many of my brides book both hair and makeup with me, I'm very happy to do one or the other. Just let me know what you need when you enquire and I'll put together the right quote for you.

Do you do mothers of the bride and bridesmaids?

Yes - and I love it. Making the whole bridal party feel equally beautiful is a big part of what makes the morning special. Pricing for bridesmaids and mothers is on my pricing page, and for larger parties I bring additional qualified stylists so everyone is ready on time.
